Kingian Nonviolence Mini Workshop

Saturday, November 14th
9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Pacific Time)

NOTE: This workshop is organized by our friends at East Bay Meditation Center. Click on the registration button and you will be taken to their website to register.

Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation is a philosophy and training methodology developed out of the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It is a transformative set of teachings that can change the way you look at conflict in your own life or in your home, and inspire you to engage in social change work in a way that brings us closer to Dr. King's vision of Beloved Community.

Throughout this interactive mini-workshop, we will explore the dynamics of conflict, definitions of violence, myths of nonviolence and the principles and steps of Kingian Nonviolence.

The workshop will be facilitated by Kazu Haga, founder of East Point Peace Academy and author of Healing Resistance: A Radically Different Response to Harm, a book about the teachings of Kingian Nonviolence.

The book has been praised by many, including Michelle Alexander, who wrote, “Kazu Haga’s deep, nuanced, and principled commitment to nonviolence has challenged and inspired me and many others who’ve had the privilege of encountering his work.”

This workshop will be offered on a Gift Economy basis. This means that we will not be charging anybody a fee to participate. Donations to support our work will be welcome.
