East Point Peace Academy was founded in the fall of 2013, as an organization dedicated to spreading the teachings of Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation. Over the years, our programmatic offerings have continued to expand.
In addition to our public trainings, we have teams of incarcerated nonviolence trainers in several prisons and county jails across the state of California, and are building a powerful direct action movement addressing climate change and racial healing.
We are not just another nonprofit organization. From our organizational structure to our relationship with money, we do not believe in doing things simply because "that's the way it's supposed to be done."
We believe that nonprofits that reflect the best of who we can be as community can be truly effective in creating the depth of change we need to see in our society to address the social, political, economic and ecological crisis in which, collectively, we find ourselves.
Welcome and please take a look around, and if you feel called to join our work, we hope you'll reach out to us!
