WHAT
Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation is a legacy that has been passed down to us from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and elders from the civil rights movement. Developed by Dr. Bernard Lafayette Jr. and David Jehnsen, two civil rights leaders who worked directly with Dr. King, it is a philosophy and methodology for transforming conflict on any level: from intra and inter-personal conflicts to large social conflicts.
This four-day intensive training will certify participants as Assistant Facilitators with the East Point Peace Academy, giving them a deeper understanding of the core curriculum and allowing them to facilitate 70% of the materials presented in the two-day Introduction to Kingian Nonviolence course. There will be follow-up opportunities to take further training to receive Level I certification, allowing participants to facilitate the full two-day workshop.
The intensive training will incorporate activities and conversations that dig deeper into the core concepts presented in the two-day Introduction Workshop, facilitation training, as well as many hours of practice in presenting the materials.
